The AXS Foundation's mission is to increase clarity and accessibility by supporting under-resourced students as they apply to college. The AXS Foundation supports AXS Companion to Common App, an online resource that students successfully use as they navigate the college application process.
The AXS Foundation is a 501(c)3, and its support of the AXS Companion focuses on increasing higher education access by simplifying the complex college application process.
Amidst reduced high school counseling, navigating the Common App has become more challenging, particularly for first-generation students. Recognizing these challenges, veteran IECA volunteers collaborated with Oregon State University E-Campus to create AXS Companion—a free, online resource that protects student privacy with no tracking or sign-in requirements. The comprehensive modules feature over 50 narrated videos that guide students as they work through Common App, including insights on financial aid and essay writing. The AXS Companion is time-efficient for counselors by facilitating independent or group guidance. The recently updated Financial Aid section offers English and Spanish videos, which include new FAFSA information.

For the better part of a year, counselors from across the country worked with the Oregon State University Ecampus to create more than 50 videos and a multitude of resources that walk students through each step in the application process. Students can take the whole journey as they fill out their own applications or drop in on a particular module for targeted support. Consultants and experts from colleges and universities provided valuable perspectives, offering guidance on topics such as how Admission's offices review an application and understanding financial aid.
